Beethoven also faced misunderstanding and personal tragedy – but he too unleashed a power that could transform lives. “Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom!” he declared, and in his only ballet he retold the myth of Prometheus for an age of Revolution.

This new production of this life-affirming masterpiece is made by Academy of Ancient Music together with the astonishing Circa, for Beethoven’s anniversary year.
