Bach’s setting of the Passion according to St John – one of the supreme masterpieces of sacred music

The Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the Academy of Ancient Music return to Cadogan Hall to continue their Easter cycle of JS Bach’s choral works. Bach’s setting of the Passion according to St John is one of the supreme masterpieces of sacred music, but it’s also an intensely human story – a drama of turmoil and betrayal, suffering and redemption, that never loses its urgency.

Tenor Gwilym Bowen and bass-baritone Jonathan Lemalu lead a superb line-up of soloists, with all arias sung by members of the Chapel Choir.
