Richard Egarr directs Messiah | Live from the Barbican
We’re delighted to mark our return to the concert stage this Christmas with the world’s most famous oratorio: Handel’s Messiah, live from the Barbican Centre.
Live-streamed from the Hall for the first time, director Richard Egarr and the orchestra and choir of AAM are joined by a glittering array of soloists for Handel’s evergreen musical account of the birth of Christ. A steadfast audience favourite thanks to uplifting and rousing choruses such as ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘For unto us a child is born’, Messiah has become a holiday tradition, with Egarr’s incisive, dynamic reading particularly acclaimed for its infectious energy.
Tickets for the broadcast-quality livestream performance will be available to book from 10am on Friday 20 November. A limited number of socially-distanced in-person tickets will also be available.
